Let's Recycle Right Eagle County!

The Town of Vail is proud to be a part of the Eagle County Climate Action Collaborative, which is launching its first Bi-Annual Recycling Education Guide for the Eagle County Community. We are spelling out in perfect clarity (with pictures included) what can ALWAYS go in your recycle bin and what can NEVER EVER go in your recycle bin. And we’ll let you know every 6 months if there have been any changes to the rules, so you can keep on top of your recycling game!

In the interim between updates, the Eagle County Waste Wizard app is a perfect tool to answer all the questions you have on recycling. Find the answers to all your specific recycling questions at any time and have access to Walking Mountains recycling resources at the tip of your fingers!

America Recycles Day

America Recycles day is held annually on November 15th and is a program of Keep America Beautiful. It is one day for awareness and education to inspire 365 days of action. The Town of Vail celebrates America Recycles Day annually by providing a free collection event to recycle E-Waste and shredded paper. The 2018 event collected over 10,000 lbs of E-Waste and 2,000 lbs of paper shredding. During the 2019 collection event, Town of Vail will also collect old vinyl banners and used bikes tubes that will be repurposed into messenger bags, purses, bike panniers, and more!

E-Waste includes household electronic devices such as TVs, Computers, Tablets, Smartphones, and Stereo Equipment. This event is free to Town of Vail residents, property owners, and those employed in the town. Charges may apply for excessive quantities.

Because Vail Mountain opens the 2019-20 ski season on November 15th, Town of Vail is celebrating America Recycles Day a little earlier this year.

The 2019 Collection event will be held on Friday, November 1st from 9am-2pm at the oversized vehicle lot on the east side of the Lionshead parking structure. For more information please contact Beth Markham at 970-479-2333 or bmarkham@vailgov.com

What is the Ordinance?
